Three Studios
All three studios are equipped with dancer
safety, and creativity, as first considerations and include:
- The Academy has installed
a state-of-the-art, high performing floor in all three studios. The sub-floor,
of wood and fiberglass, is mounted on foam cushions. A mesh “under-floor”
seals the highest quality, non-slip dance surface available in the world today, to the sprung sub-floor. This European-imported technology is just now available in very few American theater, and studio, locations. The floor is the safest in the world for muscular-skeletal health, as well as the
highest performance floor; springing the dancer back after landings. Absolutely
no street shoes are permitted on the studio floors. Dance shoes used in class
may only be used in the studio, not on the street. The surface of the floor will
be damaged by oils, waxes, and rough particles that are brought in from outside. Thank
you for making this investment in your dancing a good one, by adhering to this standard.
- The Music Factory has installed high-resolution sound reproduction equipment and four speakers in each studio.
- Mirrors have been designed for safety with an innovative non-shatter feature.
- Studio 1 features portable seating risers for audience viewing and comfort in the spirit of open-studio presentations.
