The Academy’s Summer Intensive Workshop will expose dancers to a level of training unequaled in the educational dance world.  Limited class size, superb faculty, and companionable atmosphere offer students the most thorough and rewarding dance experience available in a summer workshop.

Your tuition includes:

•  A welcome reception on the opening afternoon of the workshop.  Networking and information sharing welcome!  Bring your resume, meet the faculty, and share your career and training goals
• All workshop classes (7 class hours per day.  All students will have the benefit of working with each teacher on the faculty)
• A private evaluation by one workshop instructor of your choice with emphasis on your career, training challenges, and specific questions you want answered. (A request form for your personal evaluation is due on the 3^rd day of the workshop
• Complementary daily light lunch buffet served in the main studio lounge for students and faculty
• Repertory Performance on final day
• Certificate of Completion signed by each faculty member

On the final day of the workshop, students will be given the stage, and encouraged to perform works from their “home” dance training and performance venues.  All dance offerings in any style are welcome  (Please let us know on your application if you would like to showcase your work).  Also, workshop teachers will select dancers who have best performed class variations offered in the workshop.  The selected dancers will perform on the final day, as well. 

Paper Auditions

Please fill out the audition form enclosed with your application.  The Summer Intensive Workshop is for intermediate and advanced students with a history of applied classical dance education.  You will be notified of your acceptance within 5 days after receipt of your application.  Thank you for allowing us to provide congruent classes for workshop dancers by enabling us to evaluate your experience, and  training.

Tuition

Tuition cost of the Academy of Dance Summer Intensive Workshop is $425.00 ($395.00 if tuition is received by June 15, 2007).  Limited enrollment for eligible students will remain open until workshop is filled.

The Academy Recommends:

San Luis Obispo is a lovely community nestled in rolling hills and only 10 minutes from ocean-side beaches.  The town is well-known for boutiques, restaurants, and the world famous Thursday Night Farmers Market.  The Academy is approximately 10 blocks from the center of downtown.
